Team-based tactics for defensive situations. Drills include:
Drawing from concealment
Tactical communication
Searching and scanning, and threat identification
Shooting on the move and from a variety of positions
Utilization of cover and concealment
Transitions from long gun to pistol
Progressive multi-shot and split-time rhythm drills
Required materials:
Comfortable and sturdy footwear
Heavy-duty leather or nylon belt (pants must have belt loops)
Belt mounted, dominant side holster and magazine carriers
Wraparound eyewear or non-shattering prescription glasses
Earmuffs and earplugs
Quality functional semi-automatic pistol – full size and compact pistols only
3 magazines minimum
Estimated round count: 300 rounds pistol and 150 rounds rifle
This is an intermediate level class. Students should be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, fundamentals marksmanship skills, and working from a holster.
